Stay hydrated this summer by making basil water! This fresh and earthy herb adds great flavor and tastes great when paired with fruit. Just add basil and fruit to a pitcher with water and chill for a beverage that's healthy, hydrating, and oh-so-pretty in a glass.
1cupfruitlightly smash half to release more flavor into the water (optional)
8-10cupswaterpreferably filtered
Instructions
Place the basil and desired fruit in a large pitcher. Add water and refrigerate for at least 2 hours and up to overnight.
Serve chilled or with ice cubes.
Notes
Notes:
Add a small amount of chopped basil and fruit to a large ice cube tray. Fill with water and freeze for a visually stunning drink. Add the cubes to plain or infused water.
Instead of using plain water, try using seltzer. Just be sure to use a container with a tight-fitting lid to ensure your water doesn't get flat.
Remove the fruit after 24 hours have passed. After this time, most of their flavor will be gone.
